Tells the definitive story of one of British TV's greatest sitcoms. Series creator Eric Chappell reveals the inspiration behind his comic creation and its journey to our screens and actor Don Warrington - who played Philip in the series - returns to his adopted hometown of Newcastle, where he revisits the Theatre Royal and reminisces about getting his big break alongside Leonard Rossiter and Frances de la Tour. Part two reveals how the series continued to be a success and eventually spawned a feature-length film. Director Joe McGrath - who was tasked with transferring the comedy action to the big screen for 'Rising Damp: The Movie' - is reunited with Christopher Strauli, who recalls the challenges of stepping into Richard Beckinsale's shoes following his tragic death.
